How to connect a custom domain with GoDaddy

Prepare the records in ScaleEdges

1. In ScaleEdges, open Settings → Store → Custom domain.
2. Enter your domain name and select Connect domain.
3. Wait for ScaleEdges to display the DNS records.
4. Note the Type, Name, and Value shown on each row.

DNS is the address book that tells browsers where to find your domain. A records point to IP addresses, CNAME records create aliases, and TXT records are commonly used to verify a configuration.

Add the DNS records in GoDaddy

1. Sign in to your GoDaddy account and open your Domain Portfolio.
2. Select the relevant domain, then open DNS or Manage DNS.
3. Under Records, select Add New Record.
4. Select the Type shown by ScaleEdges.
5. In Name, enter the name provided by ScaleEdges. Use @ for the root domain.
6. In Value, paste the exact value displayed in ScaleEdges. Keep the default TTL, then select Save.
7. Repeat these steps for every required record.

If GoDaddy already displays an A, AAAA, or CNAME record with the same name, change it only when ScaleEdges provides a new value for that host. A CNAME cannot coexist with other records for the same name.

Verify the connection

Return to ScaleEdges and select Check DNS configuration. The change may appear quickly, but complete DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours. ScaleEdges will activate HTTPS after validation.

Keep the MX records and any other records required by your email service. They are not part of your store connection.
