How to connect a custom domain with Wix

Use Wix DNS management to connect your domain to your ScaleEdges store.

Prepare the records in ScaleEdges

  1. Open Settings → Store → Custom domain in ScaleEdges.
  2. Enter your domain name and select Connect domain.
  3. Wait for the required DNS records to appear.
  4. Keep the Type, Name, and Value of each record visible while you configure Wix.

DNS works like the internet's address book: it connects your domain to your store's destination. An A record uses an IP address, a CNAME points to another domain name, and a TXT record contains verification information.

Add the DNS records in Wix

  1. Sign in to your Wix account and open Domains.
  2. Select the domain you want to connect, then select Manage DNS Records.

  1. In the section for the required record type, select Add Record.
  2. Choose the type provided by ScaleEdges.
  3. In Host name, enter the Name from ScaleEdges. For the root domain, use @ if Wix requests it or leave the field empty.
  4. In Value or Points to, paste the exact value displayed by ScaleEdges, then save the record.
  5. Repeat these steps for every record displayed in ScaleEdges.

If your domain is connected to Wix but another registrar manages its nameservers, Wix may not control the active DNS zone. In that case, add the records with the provider shown in your domain's configuration.

Verify the connection

In ScaleEdges, select Check DNS configuration. Allow time for DNS propagation, which can occasionally take up to 48 hours, and refresh the page if necessary. HTTPS will be activated automatically after the domain has been validated.

Do not delete your email service's MX records. If a record already exists for the same host, compare the values before changing it.
