How to create coupons in ScaleEdges

Create a checkout code, choose its discount and eligible products, and control who can redeem it.

A coupon is a code that a customer enters at checkout to receive a discount. Unlike a sale, it does not automatically change the displayed product price for every visitor.

Create a coupon

  1. Open Marketing → Promotions.
  2. In Discount coupons, select + New coupon.
  3. Enter the Coupon code customers will use. ScaleEdges removes spaces and saves the code in uppercase.
  4. Under Applies to, choose Entire store, One product, or One collection.
  5. Choose Percentage (%) or Fixed amount.
  6. Enter the discount value.
  7. Select Create coupon.

Each coupon code must be unique within your store. Codes are matched without regard to uppercase or lowercase letters.

Configure advanced restrictions

Open Advanced options before creating or editing the coupon to set:

  • an internal note that customers cannot see;
  • a start date—leave it empty to activate the coupon immediately;
  • an end date—leave it empty to keep the coupon valid indefinitely;
  • a minimum order amount;
  • a list of allowed customer email addresses, one per line;
  • Any customer, First order only, or Must have ordered before;
  • a maximum number of redemptions.

The start and end dates are inclusive in the dashboard. An expired coupon stays in your list and can be edited with a later end date or deleted.

How customers use the coupon

The customer enters the code during checkout. ScaleEdges then checks the selected scope, start and end dates, usage limit, order minimum, email restriction, and customer history.

When a coupon is restricted by email, the customer must enter their email address before ScaleEdges can verify eligibility.

Edit or delete a coupon

Return to Marketing → Promotions:

  • select Edit to change the code, discount, scope, or restrictions;
  • select Delete to remove the coupon immediately.

The coupon table shows its redemption count and whether it is Upcoming, Active, Expired, Used up, or otherwise unavailable.

Referral and loyalty coupons are managed from their own program history rather than the regular coupon list.
